Welcome! As a classroom teacher for 35 years, reading to the class was one of my favorite parts of the day. When I retired, I fulfilled my life’s dream to create my own stories. I use ideas from my childhood, from raising my own children, and from the classroom experience.

The idea for this book came from my son. When he was ten years old, he would sit at the table for hours refusing to eat the vegetables on his plate. He would leave the table in victory because I would always give in. In this book, Zac thinks he will out-smart Mom, but those clever vegetables have something else in mind

I'm Robert. Working as an artist for twenty years, I've blended traditional and digital painting to create imaginative visuals. Over the past ten years, I've worked on children's books turning stories into colorful illustrations. I see my art as a bridge, where people connect, share ideas, and discover new viewpoints.

Each child has his/her own time schedule for when they are ready to learn. After years of teaching, I saw many children start off slow but turn it around after a few years. Each child is different. Be patient! With time and hard work, you will succeed! Each child is a “perfect design”.

”Alonzo was tired, his mind couldn’t think.
He laid down his head, was asleep in a wink.
The book in his desk hit his lap then the ground.
It landed like THUNDER and made a CLONK sound.”

"Soft twinkling lights had a magical glow.
Our front door was decked with a wreath and a bow.
Excitement and joy bubbled up in my heart
For our cherished tradition of hope would soon start."

"The stable was restful, so peaceful and still,
Where four-legged creatures came in from the chill.
When darkness crept in and they had no more light
They curled up on hay and slept through the long night."

"Dear God,
Your Son needed shelter, a home for the night,
A simple safe haven- the barn was just right.
To You I give thanks for my house to stay warm,
A place of protection in calmness and storm."

Cindy Keepers raised her children in Vancouver, WA where she taught school for 35 years. Reading books aloud to her students was her favorite time of day. Now living in AZ, she creates her own stories to share based on her life experiences and loving it!

When I was a little girl living in St. Louis, MO, we had a huge persimmon tree at the end of our driveway. When I stood under that tree, I felt it calling to me. It wanted a friend to play with . There was something magical about the seeds that were buried deep in its fallen fruit just waiting for me to discover!

"Long ago on a vast wide plain
A grove of trees began their reign.
They grew majestic and with flair,
Their grandeur shone beyond compare."

"And in the cold dark winter’s night
When food was scarce and hid from sight,
The creatures dug down deep below
And found her fruit tucked in the snow."

"Then all day long she heard….buzz, buzzz.
The field lay flat; they took what was.
The friendly trees had all been cleared.
And all the wildlife disappeared."
